A single quire of 18-5 leaves.
Catchwords mostly only on the verso side.

Some leaves have been cut off, only studs have remained (e.g. between ff. 3 and 4).

Ruling in pencil is visible.

Italian semi-cursive and square script of the 19th century.
Additions:On f. 10v there are scribbles by the same hand but in two different languages: Italian ('famiglia mio nostro dand... alla dalla mia moglia'), and in German in Kurrentschrift?
F. 11r: scribbles in Italian by the same hand as the one on f. 10v: 'Io non voleva mai mangiare se non di la nostra famiglia che io mai mio dio darmi dano ... '

F. 10v: 'famiglia mio nostro dandoti a me alla dalla mia moglie...'.
F. 11v: draft letter in pencil in Italian mentioning the town Gorizia: 'Carissimo figlio. Non Voglio fare meno di ... vedere miei caratteri conoscendo il ... Genio e poi per l'amore sempre avuto per voi nel mio ... costa non meno che sempre lo continuaro avere conoscendo... Queste ... Gorizia'.
F. 12r: note in ink in Italian, dated 17 Tamuz 5589 (=1829), Gorizia; beginning 'Nel giorno dei 17 di תמוז'.
Ownership inscriptions by Abraham Ḥai Morpurgo on ff. 12v-13v: אברהם חי מורפורגו, 'Abram Morpurgo'.
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 589; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 15 April 1929.
