Provenance and Acquisition

Ownership note on front pastedown: 'Presented to my by Mr Joseph Hamwee Manchester 25/12/11 M.G.'

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1428; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 15 February 1932.
