Post-1600, brown stamped leather binding with embossed figures; two metal clasps. At the bottom of the front pastedown, 'Moritz Mädler Leipzig W'. Perhaps identical with Moritz Mädler, the suitcase and fine leathergoods maker.

Note on a blue leaf pasted onto the back pastedown: '"The Voice of David:" קול דוד An original autograph manuscript, written in Judaeo-Persian, on 259 pages, 10 lines to a page, in gilt stamped leather binding, with embossed figures and religious emblems, especially, a bust of Albrecht Dürer, made by the celebrated book-binder Moritz Madler of Leipzig. Contents: Prayers of thanksfulness, and praises for God's blessings as His gifts to mankind. Rejoicing in the love behind life, the purpose through it, and the assured hope ahead of it.'
Acquisition note on back pastedown at the bottom of the pasted note: 'Presented to the British Museum, Department of Oriental Printed Books and Manuscripts. Y.Dawud.' Another aquisition note on f. 132v: 'Presented by Mīrzā Yūhḥannā Dāʾūd 18. iii. 1958.' Date of accession 19 March 1958.
