The NLI catalogue gives two different names as authors: in its summary entry for the whole volume, it attributes this work to Ibn Balʿam, but in the entry for this particular work on ff. 1-9, it attributes the work to Judah ben David Ḥayyuj. According to the Encyclopaedia Judaica, Steinschneider incorrectly attributed the Horayat ha-Ḳoreʾ to ibn Balʿam.

Black round stamp of Mordecai Samuel Girondi (1799-1852) on f. 21r (the page is stamped twice, and both stamps are covered with paperslips, one of which is liftable): 'MSG Rabbino Maggiore - מרדכי שמואל גירונדי מץ בקק"ד פאדובה'.
Sir Moses Montefiore (1784-1885): belonged to his library; see black oval stamp from Ramsgate, dated 1866/7 on ff. 1r and 23v: בק"ק ראמסגט יע"א התרכז לברי"ע .
Acquired in 2004 from the Montefiore Endowment via Sotheby's.
