Ashkenazi festival prayer book in Yiddish translation.

ff. 2r-401vTitle: מחזור ביידיש, מנהג אשכנזTitle: Maḥzor be-yidish, minhag AshkenazA volume containing a number of festival Services from the Ashkenazi rite, translated into a 'Judeo-German dialect of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries as used by a scribe from Krakau' (Margoliouth). Parapharistic and midrashic translations.
The headings of the prayers are in Hebrew, while the text is entirely in Yiddish.
Also contains the Five Megilot translated into Yiddish.
The main text of the prayers is supplemented by comments and directions on usage in smaller script, often in red ink.
It is possible that the scribe also decorated the MS.
The name Yitsḥaḳ is decorated in several places (e.g. ff. 199v, 282v).

After the twelfth quire, the initial words are often sketched in black ink, but not consistently painted.

Acquisition note on f. 2r, upper margin, in Italian Hebrew cursive script: הגיע לחלק כמהר"ר אבטליון מיקותיאל י"צ כשחלק עם אחיו ע"י ישראל(?) ריביירה יצ' יו ליליו שנת ליא' . The date is not clear. According to Margoliouth, 'if the stroke bearing to the right under the נ of שנת indicates the year of Creation (5)350, this would be answer to A.D. 1590.'
