Origin: 1339-1340 Syria (Damascus)Provenance and Acquisition
Deeds of sale: on f. 50v, the contract is witnessed by the High Priest in Damascus, dated, 807 AH (1404/5 CE); on f. 162v, the contract was written in Damascus in 874 AH (1469/1470 CE); on f. 199r the contract was written in Damascus in 986 AH (1578/9 CE); on f. 199v the record of purchase is dated 1214 AH (1799/1800 CE).
Bought from the Samaritan priest, Isaac ben Amram ben Salama (d. 1916) in London, during his visit there at the beginning of the 20th century ; date of accession November 1902.
