Two parts are bound in one volume:

Ink: Black ink, with rubricated headings and overlinings in red; ruled borders in gold and blue
Decoration: Double page illuminated ‘unwān consists of a finely illuminated headpiece of mainly floral designs and scroll-work in typical Safavid style. The text is in simulated clouds on gold ground with gold ruled borders surrounded by wide illuminated margins with bold floral and arabesque decoration in gold and blue
Binding: Contemporary binding, red Morocco decorated with stamped and blind-tooled central cartouche and two pendants above and below.
Marginalia: A few marginal annotations by a slightly later hand
