Diary of F Edwards from 1 January to 31 December 1940, recorded in a 'Boots Scribbling Diary'. Describes the progress of the war in Europe, the Battle of Britain and air raids during the Blitz in London. Edwards turned 18 on 30 January 1940 and worked in a car repair shop in Euston, North London.
From 29 May onwards, Edwards describes his training and service with the Home Guard and its predecessor the L D V ('the Local Defence and Voluntary Corps').
