Dīpālīkalpa
Contents
Language(s): Sanskrit
Author: Jinasundara SūriTitle: Dīpālīkalpawritten in the Jaina Devanāgarī.
A treatise on the Dīpālī festival.
The author was the pupil of Somasundara Sūri, head of the Tapāgaccha.
Written in A.D. 1426, with a Gujarātī gloss.
It begins after the Jaina diagram, fol. 1v.
The Ms. is from Bombay and deplorably incorrect. The gloss is written in above and below the lines, which are widely spaced to receive it.
Jinasundara is mentioned as the author of this work in the commentary to the Gurvāvalīsūtra of Dharmasāgara Gaṇi (Berlin Catal., ii. 1012). Cf. Peterson, Report for 1886-92, p. xli; Ind. An., xi256; J.B.R.A.S., xxiii., 45. A Sanskrit work on the same topic, the Dīpotsavakalpa, by Vinayacandra is mentioned in Pavolini, Flor. Catal., no. 713.
