A collection of fragments from various Ashkenazi maḥzorim.

Fragments from various maḥzorim: ff. 1-6, ff. 7-9, ff. 10-11.

According to M. Gaster's notes the fragments are from a genizah.

The name Abraham is marked on f. 2v.

Ff. 13r-14v: marginal notes in Ladino to Psalms 80 and 85.

Ff. 1-6: fragments from the Amidah for Rosh ha-Shanah and the Ṿidui for Yom Kipur, ca. 15th century; ff. 7-15: in a different hand, ca. 14th century.

Foliation in Arabic numerals in pencil and it is continuous throughout the different fragments.

In the digital surrogate the folio numbers correspond to the melinex sheets (12 sheets) not the individual fragments.

Some of the fragments are housed in melinex sheets with the bifolio open, some of them are housed with the bifolio folded.

Provenance and Acquisition

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1313; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 14 January 1932.
