On the last folio, described as "A translation into Turkish of the Regulations of the Royal Navy, for all grades of Officers; by James William Redhouse, during the year 1848, when he was a member of the Naval Council, and acting in conjunction with Sir Baldwin Walker, afterwards Yaver Pasha, Vice-Admiral of the Ottoman Fleet. in 1841, Mr. Redhouse returned to the Ottoman Foreign Office. This copy of the translation has ever been made as a book up to the present date, though it was used at the time in the formation of a modified code of Ottoman instructions to the naval officers of the Empire. London, 7th Feb. 1889 [Signature of JWR]
