The Divan of Mir Ali Shir Nava''i (Alisher Navoiy), i.e. Badā’i’ al-bidāyah, the first Divan edited by Navoiy himself.
It begins with a prose preface (1v-14r):
فصاحت ديوانى نينك غزل سراى لارى طبع مخزنى ديف شوريده حال
The Divan then begins (15v) as follows:
اشرقت من عكس شمس الكاس انوار الهدى
يار عكسين مي دا كور ديت جام دين جيقتى صدا
The remaining sections are Risālah-yi mustezād (212r), Risālah-yi muḥammes (213r), Risālah-yi musaddes (216r), Risālah-yi Sāqīnāmah (218r), Risālah-yi masnaviyyāt (222v), Risālah-yi rubā’iyyāt (236v), Mu’ammā (254v), and Tuyughlar (259r).
The first two folios are richly illuminated. The beginning and end of every section is also illuminated. There are miniatures in Tabriz style on ff. 14v-15r, 45v, 67r, 88v, 109a, 168a, 188a, and 205v. These might have been completed by a Turkish artist trained in Tabriz, or by a Persian artists.
At the end of the manuscript is a specimen folio of calligraphy by Mīr ‘Īmād dated 990AH/1582-83CE.
