" The original papers, letters and accounts of the Committees of Sequestrations in the several Counties of England during the Grand Rebellion, and of the moneys received from them by the Public Treasurers at Guildhall in London; in which is contained not only the names, but a particular of the Estates Real and Personal of the several Delinquents and Papists at that time, seized by the Parliament of England, with the several Ordinances of Parliament any ways relating t the same, and many other Particulars, from the year 1642 to 1648 inclusive".
This long title is prefixed by Mr Hasted, to a transcript or compilation in his hand writing, of a work intended to serve as a History of the Sequestrations in the time of the Commonwealth. It is divided into two parts, the first comprehending the Ordinances of Parliament; the second copies or Abtracts of various letters and papers relative to the Sequestrations in different Counties from Bedfordshire to Kent inclusive (the original of which are in M.S. Add. 5494). An introduction is prefixed to the whole by Mr Hasted who has added comments to each County and notices from the Treasurers books. Under Kent, pages 327-345 is an account of the Rents of the Archbishop of Canterbury, 1643 which does not occur in M.S. Add. 5494.
