Order of the Lords and Commons, that all the arrears of the 10,000 £ per ann. voted to the Earl of Essex, Captain General of the Forces, should be paid: viz. 5000 £ per ann. in money, and in lieu of the remaining moiety, that the mansion house of Cayshoebury [Cashiobury] and Little Haddum [Little Hadham], with the parks thereto belonging; the manor of Cayshoe; the rectory of Watford, Langley Park; the manor of Parkbury; the third part of the manor of Bushy [Bushey] and the manor of Walkenne [Walkern], in county Hertfordshire; the manor of Rayne, Barking Park; the manors of Stebbing, Portershall [Porter’s-Hall], and Berwick-Berners, and Blake End Farm in county Essex; the manors of Goodenstone with Oxborrow, and Little Farmisham, in county Norfolk; the manors of Icklingham-Berners, and Aspall-Stonham in county Suffolk; the lands sometime part of Warden Abbey in county Bedfordshire, and contain houses and tenements within the precincts of White Friars, London, all of which lately belonged to Arthur Lord Capell, a delinquent; together with the manors, called St. John’s Abbey near Colchester, Shenfield, Mylend [Mile-End], Greensted, Fordham, Lexdon, and Horsley, in county Essex; late parcel of the estate of Sir John Lucas, knight, delinquent; the manors of Barking, Jenkins, and Garters near Barking, in county Essex; late parcel of the estate of Thomas Fanshaw, esquire, delinquent; the manors of Stanford Rivers and South Okendon, in county Essex; late parcel of the estate of William Peter, esquire, delinquent; the manors of Glemham [Glemilam] or Glemham Hall [Glemilam Hall], county Suffolk; late parcel of the estate of Sir Thomas Glemham [Sir Thomas Glemilam], delinquent; the manors of Somerhill or Tunbridge [Tonbridge], county Kent, and Bailey, county Hertfordshire; late parcel of the estate of the Earl of St Alban, papist; all of which amount to the yearly value of 5000 £.; should belong to the said Earl of Essex, during the term of his life. 26 Sept 1645.
