A thin volume in folio, ff. 123, containing miscellaneous letters, and papers, formerly belonging to John Carey, a merchant of Bristol, viz.
1. An humble proposal to the House of Commons, for a fund for the calling in of clipt money, signed ‘Robt Murray.’ f. 4.
2. An abstract delivered to certain merchants of Bristol, in the suit with the King [James II] about the woollen or bay trush yarn, showing how the trade of England would receive prejudice in the woollen manufactures by its paying duty as worsted yarn. Signed ‘John Cary.’ f. 6.
3. Account of a cure of diabetes, in the case of William Molyneux, of Warrington, county Lancashire, affected by drinking the hotwell water at Bristol, in a letter from Mr. Molyneux to Benjamin Rosterne, dated 12 Oct 1695. f. 7.
4. Project for making Captain Easton mayor of the city of Bristol, in order to the facilitating of the delivering up of the charter, sent to Whitehall by Sir John Knight, then one of the sheriffs of the city. f. 8.
