A thin folio volume of collectanea relating to Sussex, containing the printed sheets of Gibson’s edition of Camden, so far as relates to that County, copiously illustrated by manuscript notes, copied from the collection of Mr. John Elliot and Mr. Edward Clarke; also with a ground Plot of Lewes Castle; and engraved views of Chichester Cathedral, the Roman Inscription found at Chichester, Cowdrey House etc. At the end are appended:
1. Extracts from Gale’s Edition of Antoninus, respecting the Roman Roads and Stations in Sussex.
2. Customs, Rents and Services of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s tenants of his Manors near Lewes, in the time of Edward the First, and Third.
3. Letter from Edward Clarke to Sir William Burrell, respecting the proposed undertaking of the History of Sussex. Dated Willingdon, near Eastbourne, 11 February 1771.
4. Letter from Edward Clarke to Sir William Burrell, on the Roman inscription found at Chichester etc. Dated Willingdon, 3 April 1771.
5. Letter from Mr. Strode to Sir William Burrell, respecting the family of Cowper or Cooper. Dated Grosvenor St., 12 April 1789
