Alphabet of arms, pedigrees, etc. in the handwriting of Mr Cole, viz.
1. Alphabet of arms, copied in 1744, from a MS in the Library of King’s College, Cambridge, compiled by Wm. Smith, Rouge-Dragon, 1604, with very large additions by Mr Cole. p. 1-290. Mr Cole’s additions are contained on an equal number of interleaved pages, which are not numbered.
2. Extracts from a manuscript book of Cheshire pedigrees, out of the library of Sir John Crewe, of Utkinton, Cheshire, originally compiled by John Booth of Twemlow, with additions by Sir J. Crewe. pp. 291-315. These extracts are chiefly arranged in alphabetical order. Those families more particularly noticed are:Bromley, two long pedigrees, and arms, pp. 293-295.Savage, p. 302.Wright of Brickly, p. 303.Knightly of Fawsley, Northamptonshire, pp. 306-313 (including Knightley of Burgh-Hall, Staffordshire, p. 312; Knightley of Calais, Charleton of Appleby, Co. Salop, and Crewe, p. 312).Kingesley of Kingesley, p. 314, 315.
3. Pedigree of Huddleston of Sanston, Co. Cambr., with the arms emblasoned, seals &c., copied from a roll, drawn up by John Taylor, 1641, and continued to 1769, in possession of Ferdinand Huddleston, Esq. 1769. pp. 317-335.
4. Descendants from King Edward the Third to the year 1611, copied from a roll in possession of MrMetcalfe of Fordham Abbey, Co. Dorset, 1778. pp. 336-339.
5. Pedigree of Bromley, from Nash’s History of Worcestershire. p. 340.
6. Pedigree of Bromleigh or Bromley, Co. Staff., and Worc., with the arms emblasoned, copied in 1779 from a roll drawn up by Rob. Cooke, Clarencieulx, 1583, with an additional pedigree of Pelham, Walshe, and Bromley of Holt Castle to the year 1649, given by Lord Montfort (representative of the family of Bromley) to Mr Cole, in 1774. pp. 341-358.
7. Extracts from Jacobs Complete English Peerage, London, 1767, relative to the family of Bromley of Horseth, Co. Cambr. pp. 359-362.
8. Pedigree of Hatton, with the arms emblasoned, drawn up in 1574 by Robert Cooke, Clariencieulx, for Christopher Hatton Esq., Captain of the Queen’s Guards. Copied from a roll lent to Mr Cole by Sir Tho. Hatton of Long-Stanton, Co. Camb., in 1780. pp. 363-368, 373-381.
9. ‘Pedigree of Rainolde Graye, Lord Graye of Ruthen, where is briefly shewn howe these noblemen & gentilmen hereunder written are descended from the saide Lorde Graye’. Annexed to the preceding pedigree of Hatton, which family is included in the descent. pp. 383, 384.
10. Proceedings in the House of Lords 3rd – 5th July 1780, relative to the Indulgence to Catholics. Extracted from ‘The English Chronicle’, 4th – 8 July. pp. 369, 372, 420-422 (see Vol. 2, p. 146).
11. Notes relative to the petitions from the University of Cambridge in 1736-7, against the erection of a theatre there, and respecting the trade of vintners in the town. Extracted from the Journals of the House of Commons, with a note on the intended theatre as occupied in 1775.
