Volume 47 of Mr. Cole’s Collections, the greater part relating to Cambridgeshire, viz.
1. Extracts from the Parish Book of Great St. Mary’s Church in Cambridge, from 19 Hen. VII [1503/1504], to 1635. Prefixed are the Arms of the Corporation of Cambridge, emblazoned. (pages 2-30).
2. Transcript of manuscript notes by the Reverend Thomas Baker of St. John’s College Cambridge, upon Mr. Anthony Wood’s ‘Athenæ Oxoniensis’ Edit. 1691. With additional notes by Mr. Cole. (pages 32-84) Prefixed are the Arms emblazoned of:

4. Copy of Mr. Cole’s lease of a small farm at Milton, near Cambridge, for 20 years, from King’s College. Dated 8 November 1769. With a sketch of the College seal. A note is prefixed by Cole, touching the lease, and the character of the Provost of King’s College (Dr. Cook). (pages 87-90).
5. Letter from Mr. Cole to Reverend Mr. Paddon, Bursar of King’s College, about Milton Lease. Dated Milton, 14 October 1776. (page 91).
6. Narrative of the circumstances attending Mr. Cole’s new lease of Milton, in May 1777, and particulars respecting Mr. Hetherington, Fellow of Eton. (page 92).
7. Copy of observations on the old chapel of Sidney College in Cambridge, with a plan and section of the Building by Mr. James Essex, architect. 1776. Mr. Cole has added in colours the Arms of Essex, and Thomas Radcliffe, Earl of Sussex, impaling Sidney. (pages 93-96).
8. Extracts from the ‘Voyages Liturgiques de France. Par le Sieur de Moleon’ Paris, Octavo, 1718. Relating to the Epitaph of Dame Margerite de Levy, in the Abbey of Port Royal des Champs, and a singular form of donation to the Abbey of Port Royal. AD 1228 (page 97)
9. Copy of a curious manuscript of Heraldry lent to Mr. Cole by Dr. Lort in 1776. Containing the Coats of Arms emblazoned of most of the ancient families of England. The original is supposed to have been executed by some Herald in the reign of Henry VIII. The contents are:

Mr Cole has prefixed, at page 98, some account of the manuscript and has added at the close the arms of Dr. Lort, the Reverend Michael Tyson, Dr. Farmer, and of himself, with some extracts from Mr. De St. Polaye’s ‘Memoires sur l’ancienne Chevalerie’ giving an account of why the Arms of Knights were displayed in monasteries, and why the same sort of bearing often prevails in a particular county. An Alphabetical index of names to the whole is annexed. (pages 218-245) .
