Volume 52 of Mr. Cole’s Collections. Not regularly paged, commencing with page 343 and going on to page 578, and then from page 150 to page 271, exclusive of the index which is not paged). It contains copies and extracts from four volumes of original letters, written by various persons to the Reverend John Strype, the Ecclesiastical Historian, Rector of Low Leyton in Essex, or members of his family, from 1644 to 1720. The originals were in the possession of the Reverend Samuel Knight, Rector of Milton, Cambridgeshire, and lent to Mr. Cole in 1778. Notes are added throughout by the transcriber, and at the end an Index of the names of the writers, and of the principal persons mentioned. The letters are in number above 950, and include copied of various papers. The names of the writers are here annexed in alphabetical order:
