13 of 13 volumes in Quarto, containing the whole of the Ancient English version of the Old and New Testament, usually ascribed to Wycliffe. Transcribed from a Manuscript at Lincoln College at Oxford (marked Arch.15) under the direction of John Russell, M.A., Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, in 1721. This was subsequently collated slightly with the manuscripts in Sr. John’s and Queen’s Colleges, Oxford, and in the Cotton Collection (Claud E. II) preparatory to its being sent to the press.
This volume contains transcripts of various chapters of the Bible etc. viz.
i. Homily on the text ‘Quicunque vult salvis esse’ etc. copied from ‘Bodl. Archiv. 100’ and collated with ‘Bodl. Th. W. 3.5.’ and ‘Arch. B. 96’. (folios 1-34)
ii. Letters from Simon Islip, Archbishop of Canterbury to John de Wyclyve, appointing him Custos of Canterbury Hall, Oxford. Dated Maghfield, 5 id. Dec 1365 (Latin). (folio 35)
iii. Protestatio Rev. Doctoris [John Wycliffe] cum ejus Conclusionibus, Copied from MS. Seld. Arch. B 10. Bodleian Library (Differing from the copy printed in Fox). (folios 38-43b)
iv. Part of the 1st and 2nd Chapter of Genesis, collated with the Lincoln, St. John’s, Fairfax, and Queen’s College copies. (folios 46-49b)
v. Transcripts of the first chapters or verses of the Books of the Old and New Testament, which are noted marked to have been collated by Casley with the Royal and Cotton manuscripts in the British Museum. (folios 46-110)
vi. Draft of a letter from Mr. Russell to some stationer, respecting a suplly of paper for printing his work. Dated 10 January 1722/1723. (folios 101b-103b)
vii. Memoranda of the expenses of Printing, Paper, etc. (folios 102b, 104b, 105b, 106)
viii. A few memoranda relative to Lutterworth, Wickliffe’s translation etc. (folios 112b-113).
