This article is in the handwriting of Sir Henry St. George, grandson of Sir Richard St. George (Cf MS Lansd. 863, folio 1b and Index, where he refers to his grandfather’s children). The same hand has added a copious index of names to this volume, (folios 196-201) and has also prefixed a general table of contents (pages a-h), from which we learn that the 39 first folios of the manuscript have been abstracted from it, and a memorandum by a recent professor (Dr. Osmund Beauvoir?) states that they were bound up separately. A transcript of the first 26 of these folios (which in the original were all in Leland’s handwriting) made in 1682 is in the Bodleian Library marked NE. F. 11. 18, and thence printed by Hearne in the Appendix to the IV. Volume of Leland’s Itinerary. (page 108).
