A duodecimo volume (135 folios), containing these separate tracts bound together, viz.
1. ‘A reply to Sir Peter Leicester’s answer to Sir Thomas Mainwaring’s admonition to the Reader of Sir Peter Leicester’s book, written by the said Sir Thomas Mainwaring, bur never yet printed’. (folios 1-45). Transcribed into Add MS 5841 where it is stated to have been found among the papers of Sir John Crew of Utkinton, Cheshire.
2. Collections relating to the Pedigrees of the Barons of England since the conquest, written early in the last century [17th Century]. (folios 46b-69b)
3. ‘The large review of the summary view of the articles exhibited against the Bishop of St. David’s epitomiz’d, being a full though short Defence of the said Bishop. In the year 1703’. (folios 70-135b).
Apparently the original manuscript was given to Mr. Cole by Lady Ward of Wilbraham in 1750.
