A large folio volume, ff. 46, containing extracts from the court rolls of the manor of Knokesle, or Croxley, in the parish of Rickmansworth, county Hertfordshire, belonging to the abbey of St. Albans, and appropriated to the office of Cellerer. The rolls extend from 43 Henry III to 23 Henry VIII, written on vellum, in a hand of the sixteenth century, ff. 4-46. Prefixed on three leaves of paper, is the ‘Custumarium Manerii de Crokesley, ex evidentiis eiusdem, do. Dñi 1566,’ and a table, or index, of the lands, tenants and matters mentioned in the rolls. This manuscript was bequeathed by the Rev. William Cole of Milton, who has copied the extracts from the rolls into the XXXIII volume of his collections (Add MS 5834). It was given to him in 1748-1749 by Mr. Bentham of Cambridge.
