(The following ninety-three volumes, from 6179 to 6271, inclusive, were bequeathed to the Museum by Dr. John Loveday, of Williamscot, Oxfordshire, and were received in January 1810).
A folio volume of collections, ff. 99, partly manuscript and partly printed, relating to the British Museum, during the period Dr. Ward was a Trustee, 1753-1758, viz.
1. ‘An Act for vesting Montagu-House in Trustees etc. to convey the same to the Trustees of the British Museum for a Repository.’ (Printed, folio). ff. 1-6.
2. So much of the Act, 27 George II, as relates to the British Museum (printed, duodecimo) two copies, with manuscript remarks of Dr. Ward. ff. 7-15.
3. Statutes, and rules, to be observed in the management and use of the British Museum, by order of the trustees, 1757 (printed, quarto), with manuscript annotations, and additions. ff. 16-24.
4. List of the additional trustees, first nominated by those who were appointed by the Act of Parliament, 1753, with the alterations by death, or otherwise. f. 25.
5. Notice to Dr. John Ward of his being elected one of the fifteen additional trustees, and summons to attend a meeting at the Cockpit. 17 Dec 1753. f. 26.
6. Names of the Committee appointed, 17 Dec 1753, to consider of a proper device for a seal. f. 27.
7. Names of the Committees appointed for the seal, for inspecting Sir Hans Sloane’s museum at Chelsea, and for inspecting the Harleian manuscripts. f. 28.
