A quarto volume, of 80 pages, in Professor Ward’s handwriting, intitled “An Amicable Correspondence between the Rd. Mr. R[ichard] B[iscoe] and J[ohn] W[ard], relating to the question, whether the Jewish Magistrates were permitted to execute their own laws in capital cases under the Roman Governors”. Prefixed is “A brief account of the following correspondence”.
1. Letter from Professor Ward to Mr Biscoe, sending him some remarks on a MS. Essay, making part of Mr Biscoe’s Sermons preached at Boyle’s Lecture, and afterwards printed in Chap[ter].vi of Mr Biscoes ‘History of the Acts’. Dated 19 March, 1737-8. Pages 1-14.
