A quarto volume of 36 folios, containing “The Statutes of the most Noble Order of the Garter”, as reformed by King Henry VIII in 1522, with the additional Statutes made in the Chapters held 23 April, [in the] 32[nd year of the reign on King] Henry VIII [1540], 5 August and 9 October 1[st] & 2[nd year of the reign King] Philip and [Queen] Mary [1554, 1555], 22 April 2[nd] & 3[rd year of the reign King] Philip and [Queen] Mary [1555, 1556], 12[th year of the reign of King James 1st [1614], [Elizabeth], 4[th year of the reign of Queen] Elizabeth [1561], 29 April 7[th year of the reign of Queen] Elizabeth [1564], 24 April 8[th year of the reign of Queen] Elizabeth [1565], 32 April 9[th year of the reign of Queen] Elizabeth [1566] and 24 April [of the] 13[th year of the reign of Queen] Elizabeth [1570].
This copy, from the signature at the commencement, appears to have belonged to Gregory Hascard, Dean of Windsor, and Registrar of the Order (1684-1708).
This copy differs considerably from the early transcript in Add MS 6288.
