The 6th of 19 volumes which comprise the Collections towards a History of Sussex made by the Reverend William Hayley, Rector of Brightling, and form an excellent supplement to Sir William Burrell’s collection for the same county.

The following title is prefixed: ‘Sussex, viz. Rgistrum Monasterii de Bello, è duobus codicibus MSS penes Hon. Dom. Dom. Whistherum Webster, Baronett. ejusdem Monasterii Possessorem, descriptum Hæe scripsit W. H. AD 1762’
This volume is in two parts.
Part 1 contains a copious abstract (and frequently copies of Instruments at full length) of the Register marked Vol. 1 taken from the original manuscript. (pages 1-163)
Part 2 consists of an abstract of another Register, copied from a transcript made by David Casley, in 1727. (pages 267-327)At the end is annexed a rough analysis of the contents of the volume (pages 328-338) and memoranda descriptive of the original register marked Vol. 1. (pages 339b-341)
