A thin folio volume (24 folios), containing:
1. ‘An Vnhappie Viewe of the whole behaviour of my Lord Duke of Buckingham, at the French Island of Rees. Secretlie discovered by W. F. an unfortunate commander in that untoward service’. (folios 2-15b) (The author was William Fleetwood, and his narrative was published in 1648, Quarto)
2, 3. Copies of two letters from Sir Edward Hyde, late Lord Chancellor of England. The first sent to the Duke of York, the other to the Duchess of York, from Montpellier in France, on a report of the Duchess inclining to turn Catholic. (folios 17-20)
4. Relation in a letter from Edinburgh, concerning the behaviour of the Duke of Montrose, and his execution. Dated Edinburgh, 20/21 May 1650. (folios 21- 22b)
5. Copy of a letter from King Charles II to the Duke of Ormond, concerning the Dismissal of the Lord Chancellor Hyde. Dated Whitehall, 15 September. (From the original in the possession of George Clarke esquire, one of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty). (folio 23) (Printed in Ellis’s ‘Original Letters’, Volume IV, page 39, 2nd ser.)
