A quarto volume (68 folios), titled ‘Promiscuous Collections of Surrey’, and chiefly consisting of Church notes neatly written at the beginning of the 10th Century, and illustrated by spirited sketches in pen and ink of the monuments, Arms, etc. probably executed by [James?] Coates, a herald painter, who as appears from Morton’s Northamptonshire, was a person of great knowledge in his profession, and was editor of the last edition of Gwillim in 1724.
The contents follows:
1. Account of the Family of Segar, and its different branches, drawn up in 1716, in honour of the author’s ‘very good friend’ Simon Segar, author of the ‘Honores Anglicani’, published in 1712. (folios 3-6b)
2. Index of names and places in the volume. By another hand. (folios 7-8b)

11. Letter from Gilbert Douglas of Ham Court, Surrey, to the compiler of this manuscript, respecting the descent of his family. Dated Ham, 17 January 1712/1713. (folios 67, 68) A note in the handwriting of Dr. John Loveday, queries whether the writer of this letter was the solicitor to the House of Commons of that name, who died in 1758.
