A quarto volume (83 folios), [marked Vol. IX] containing original letters to and from Bishop Chandler on various subjects, for the most part, connected with Ecclesiastical rites and Discipline, with other miscellaneous papers.
1. Letter from Timothy Jocks of Welshampton near Ellesmere, Shropshire, to the Bishop; complaining of Mr. Deane, incumbent of the Parish, that he had refused to bury Mr. Jock’s child on the ground that it had been baptised by a non-conformist minister. Dated Welsh Hampton, 2 April 1719. On the back is written the rough draft of the Bishop’s reply, and letter to Mr. Deane in shorthand. (folios 1-2b)
