The bridegroom is Joseph Cortisos (יוסף קורטיסוס), the bride is Sara Nissim Lombroso (שרה נוניס לומברוזו). Witnesses: דוד די קראסטו, ויוסף מנדיס די ת ששה ועשרים יום לחדש אלול שנת חמשת אלפים וחמש מאות ועשרים וארבע לבריאת עולם ... פה לונדריש ... על נהר טאמש .

Conditions in the lower part of the full border in a cartouche. At the bottom of the cartouche is a printed inscription with blank which were not filled: 'Registrada no Libro de K.K. Pag. No. '

Sefardi Hebrew semi-cursive script of the 18th century.

Decoration

Copper engraved full border with two vases with flowers and birds, two scenes in the upper corners (right: a couple shaking hands, left: mother with two childrens). In the top register of the frame puttos holding drapery with the inscription: סימן טוב.

Decorated initial word.

Additions:

Small green rectangular paper stamp (1 shilling 6 pence) in the upper left corner on the recto side. Another, white paper stamp on the verso.

Binding

In melinex. In a post binder with 11 other ketubot.

M. Gaster's note on the top of the verso: 'from Mrs. B. Lindo 3.x.903. - M. Gaster'

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1670; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924.
