Decoration

Copper engraved full border with two vases with flowers and birds, two scenes in the upper corners (right: a couple shaking hands, left: mother with two childrens). In the top register of the frame puttos holding drapery with the inscription: סימן טוב.

In melinex. In a post binder with 11 other ketubot.

Provenance and Acquisition

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1671; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924.
