F. 5v: trace of a crude, correcting hand, perhaps that of the purchaser, Joseph ben Israel.

Islamic flap binding, blind-tooled and blind-blocked, with embossed side panels. Boxed.

Origin: 1736 West Bank (Nablus)Provenance and Acquisition
Deed of sale on f. 80v indicating that Joseph ben Israel bought the manuscrpit in 1175 AH (1761 CE).
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1189; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 15 December 1931.
