Title page in full border with ink decorations on f. 36r: שלום מילול יין The name Shalom Milul is crossed out and David Garson is added underneath.

Contains among others poems composed by Yaʿakov Ibn Malka (יעקב ן’ מלכא, e.g. f. 91v), David ben Hasin (דוד בן חסין, e.g. ff. 45r, 53r, 72r, 172r), etc.

F. 106v: יגדל אדון העולמים based on the piyuṭ יגדל אלקים חי.

Ff. 181r-186r: Aramaic and Ladino translations of the Hafṭarot for Passover.

Back pastedown: פיוט למעלת ... יצחק ן’ וואליד ... סימן אני אברהם ילוז.

Collation is falling apart. Front cover is detached. Spine is damaged.

Ownership inscriptions in Ladino mentioning among others various members of the Garson family (David and Abraham: איסטי ליברו איס די אברהם גרשון (front flyleaf (i)v); איסטי ליברו איס די הבחור אב' גרשון די דוד יצ"ו - אני הכותב אברהם גרשון; איסטי ליברו איס די דוד גרשון אני הכותב יוספ ... ( f. 32v); איסטי ליברו איס די הבחור ונחמד תב"ו כה"ר שלום מילול יצ"ו ... אני הכותב ע"ה ב"ה שלמה טוב עלם.

Ownership inscription in Ladino on f. 46v: איסטי ליברו איס די הבחור ונחמד תבו' הר' שלום מילול. The name Shalom Milul is crossed out and David Garson is added underneath.

Ownership inscriptions on f. 3r: 'Samuel Garson', 'Este libro es del ... Salomon Garsoro', 'J.A.B. Levy'. The latter is accompanied with stamps of this monogramme.

Very cursive note on giving this volume as a gift to M. Gaster: אות ל... אהבה מאת הצעירים שמואל גרשון ואחיו ל... משה גאסטיר יצ"ו בעיר מאנטסטיר ח' לניסן התרס ...

M. Gaster's note on f. 21r: 'M. Gaster from D. S. Garson Manchester ...'.

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 298; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 7 March 1928.
