Ownership inscription by Isaac ben Jacob ha-Kohen in blue ink on ff. 6r, 8r, 16r, 17r, 29v, etc.: יצחק בן יעקב הכהן שוור' ושו"ב דק"ק סטאשיכאלי באוהירשאלי סימנא פאוימאני לונא...; by the same hand: 'Jeko Jankielowicz Polak Kanton z Miasta Balviewrziszeku [Balwierzyszki] Powiata Mariampolski guber. Agustowskiego.. '(f. 23r, 25v).
Gaster bought the manuscript from M. Grossberg in August 1908 (see Handlist of Gaster Manuscripts, London: The British Library, 1995; unpublished copy is available at the BL).
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1018; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 23 May 1930.
