Qur’ān, in Arabic, a copy from Madura.
f.297v: colophon in Arabic and Javanese (read by T. Pudjiastuti): kala tahun ja.s.ra.nga wulan eni tanggal ?22 dinten soma panca wala kumala, 'in the year ?jasranga the month eni, on the ?22, on Monday, [the wuku] panca wala kumala', with the name 'Abd al-Latif, ing dusun Larangan kampung Puri wastanipun m.a.ù.r.h makarim kala tahun ja.s.ra.nga, 'in the hamlet of Larangan, in the village named Puri, ... in the year ?jasranga'
Text frames are triple-ruled lines of black ink. Verse (ayah) markers are red circles. Surah headings are in red ink, set in double-ruled frames, often with knotted ta marbuta. Juz' are marked in the text with a red circle with finials are the four cardinal points, and in the margin with an inscription in red ink, and on the facing page with marginal illuminated ornaments of triple-stacked roundel in green and gold, which are probably modern additions.
There are 3 sets of double decorated frames, in green and dark pink outlined in gold and black ink, which are probably modern additions:ff. 1v-2r, S. al-Fātiḥah and beg. of S. al-Baqarah; ff. 147v-148r: second page of S. al-Kahfff. 296v-297r: final six surahs.
The illuminated frontispiece (f. 1r) giving the name of Pangeran Paku Ningrat, of the court of Sumeneb [Madura], the year 1793 (i.e. A.J. 1793=AD 1865) is probably a modern addition to the 19th-century manuscript (cf. Gallop 2017: 113-114).

Dimensions: 295 x 195 mm. 297 ff., Javanese treebark paper (dluwang).
13 lines per page, black ink, excellent vigorous cursive hand with a pronounced forward slope.
Gilded edges (probably modern embellishment).
Binding: black leather Javanese binding, with blind-stamped ornamental frames and stamped gilded corner pieces and central medallions; no flap; spine of plain black leather. As the covers are slightly smaller than the folios, this binding may have been transferred from another manuscript.
