Language(s): Arabic and PersianTitle: Bayāz̤-i istikhārahTitle: بياض استخارهCompilation of short extracts from the Qurʾān, traditions of the Prophet and Imams, and divine litanies, written separately along the upper edge on the verso (and occasionally on the recto) of every folio so as to aid the randomised selection of text for prognostication or istikhārah, collected by a certain Bandah Ḥasanas a memorial (see colophon).
Colophon (f. 128v): completed by Bandah Ḥasanwith the intention that its reader prays for him. Not dated.
Codex in the form of a safīnah to be held vertically.
Ornamental scribal naskh with rough shikastah āmīz scrawl for translations below the Arabic formulae, occasionally written obliquely.
Stamped foliation on recto, with Persian foliation on verso.
