Language(s): Persian and ArabicTitle: Anīs al-ghurabāʾTitle: انيس الغرباءTreatise on Sufism by an author identifying himself as Nūr, but entitled in the superscription as Quṭb-i ʿĀlam.
The work was intended to compliment the treatise Muʾnis al-fuqarāʾby a student of ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn ʿUmar Lāhawrī, which dates to the early fifteenth century. Arberry has argued this is the basis for fixing the present author’s period of work to the period immediately following the composition of the Muʾnis al-fuqarāʾ.
Dated colophon (f. 61r): completed before noon, Monday, 8 Rajab 1011/22 December 1602.
The opening folio is a replacement by the later owner, Muḥammad Karīm Allāh of Delhi.
