Title: Samaritan liturgy

Crown: The manuscript could be the continuation of Or 14896 since the first quire is marked as quire 39. However, the contents do not support the physical evidence of continuity with Or 14896 since they repeat some of the Passover liturgy. It may be that the manuscripts were prepared for sale to western scholars and not for use by the Samaritans (see Crown, p. 156).

Old catalogue numbers on front cover: 'N 1161 de l'Enregist'; 'No 21'; see also Or 14894, Or 14895, Or 14896.

Purchase note on f. 28r: Abraham ben Mufarrij of the Mufarijj family sold the manuscript to Amram ben Salama, the Levitical priest in 1831..

Bought of Elias Assad as part of a lot of four manuscripts (Or 14894-Or 14897), 1 June 1994.
