[Ottoman Technical Drawings]
- Scope & Content:
-
Ten technical drawings from the Ottoman Empire.
The drawings illustrate a number of different routine and famous experiments phenomena in physics (including optics) and chemistry. They are accompanied by alpha-numerical indicators in Ottoman and lack textual explanations. Human figures in the drawings are in Ottoman dress, implying that they were prepared for Ottoman readers, rather than European drawings altered for the Ottoman market.
