- Title:
- Sayf al-Mulūk - سيف الملوك
- Scope & Content:
-
A masnavi poem entitled Sayf al-Mulūk, composed by Muḥammad Jawād Siyāh-pūsh, who died 1246AH (1830-31 CE). The manuscript is incomplete and damaged, with numerous pages missing parts of their contents.
The manuscript text appears to be in a dialect of Kurmanji Kurdish written in fully-vocalized Arabic script. The exact dialect has yet to be determined, although it does seem to include grammatical gender. On occasion, the text includes short poems in Persian as well. An Arabic addenda comprised of a prayer is found on folio 63r.
This manuscript was copied Mollā Bāqir in 1286 AH (1869-70 CE).
