Condition

Binding is in a fragile condition, collation is partially detached from binding, and there are loose leaves.

Provenance and Acquisition

Ownership inscriptions on f. 416v: 'Se pure questo libro si perdesse ed il nome del padrone non si sapesse chi la trova e chi...', 'Leone del Vecchia'.

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 172; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 30 January 1928.
