19 folios; folded tree-bark; foliated in pencil [A] 1-19; [B] 1-19; written on both sides; 15-21 lines per page; black ink.
f. [A].1 is blank and acts as the outer cover; the text runs from ff. [A].2-19, and on the other side from ff. [B].1-18; but threads on the fold of f. [A].19 indicate old repairs linking folios which are now missing.
Decoration: black ink drawings and motifs on ff. [A].2, 4 and [B].7.

Or 16995-16999 were purchased by B. Corrigan as lot 392 in a Fonsie Mealy auction on 20 Nov 2018 of the contents of Milford House, Carlow, Ireland. The house had been in the Alexander family since ca. 1800, and Major John Alexander III (1850-1944) is known to have been in Africa and Tibet.
