Scope & Content:

Manuscript scores of works by Frederick Laurence (1884-1942, born Frederick Kessler). All are autograph unless otherwise stated.

The collection consists of scores for orchestral pieces and three chamber works, dating from around 1913 to 1941. Included is Laurence’s score for the silent film ‘Morozko’ (1924, dir. Yuri Zhelyabuzhsky), written for screenings in the UK in 1925.
