Collection of photographs from the Nairobi Railway Museum, taken circa 1901 before and during the construction of the Uganda railway which run through present day Kenya and Uganda.
Extent: The sample photographs are taken from two albums both titled Uganda Railways 1901.
Condition of original material: Some photos are fading but most are still intact within the albums.
Custodial history: All the photographic material belongs to the Nairobi Railway Museum which is a subsidiary of the state cooperation - Kenya Railways. Over the years Kenya Railways has previously operated under the names Uganda Railway and East African Railways and Habours.
