There is a considerable gap of five folios between the translator's preface and the main body of the text.
Jones had two other versions of this text, MS RSPA 1 (also Persian) and MS RSPA 92 (in Arabic), which are more heavily annotated and in largely much better condition than this version.

Form: codexMaterial: paperSupport: Thin woven paper.Extent: ff. x+132+viDimensions (leaf): 220 × 165 mm.Dimensions (written): 160 × 90 mm.Foliation:European numerals in pencil. The translator's preface is not foliated along with the text, but is foliated using Latin letters.
Condition
The manuscript has suffered sustained worm damage and has since been repaired with lamination. There are supports and guards on each folio. The top corner of each folio is also water-damaged.

Small black nastaʿlīq script with rubrications.
Additions:There are occasional notes made by Jones, usually in the form of a cross or curly bracket to highlight a section. He also translates some words and writes out other difficult to read words in naskh script. There is also at least one other non-scribal hand that makes occasional comments in Persian.
Binding
Standard India-Office half-leather binding with wine-coloured marbled endpapers.

RSPA 1-118 were presented to the Royal Society in January 1792 by Sir William and Lady Jones. According to Wilkins, this manuscript was presented by Lady Jones.
The Royal Society's collection of 280 Persian and Arabic, and 86 Sanskrit manuscripts were transferred to the India Office Library in 1876.
