- Title:
- Divan-i Arşi - ديوان عرشى
- Scope & Content:
-
This volume is a compilation of the poetical works of the Hurufi poet Arşi Dede, which consist primarily of gazeller. These are followed by some tercibends (f 117v), with some mesneviler and müstezadlar. The Divan ends with Rubaiyyat (ff 154r-157v).
According to YDK II, p. 514, Esrar Dede has confused this Hurufi poet with Tireli Arşi, a Mevlevi poet, and has attributed a poem to him which occurs in this volume (ff 74v-75r) as well as other copies. Similar errors occur in OM II, pp. 307-8.
The date of the author's birth (970 AH/1562-63 CE) occurs on f 22v. Between this and the gazel that follows, the year of his birth (970 AH) has been interpolated by the copyist, together with the year of his death (1030 AH/1620-21 CE) and the number of years (538) that had elapsed since the manifestation (Z. - zuhur) of Fazlullah (F.).
This work was copied by Çaker-i Al-i Aba 'an evlad-i Seyit Mahmud Baba sakin be-dergah-i Şehidilik in the vicinity of Rumelihısar in 1289 AH (1872-73 CE).
