This volume contains the well-known poem Mevlit on the nativity of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم, his mission and his death, by Süleyman Çelebi (died 812 AH/1409-10 CE). According to the EI and other sources, the poet might have died in 825 AH (1421-22 CE). The poem is also known as the Vesiletü'l-Necat.
Instead of the Arabic preface found in some copies of the text, there is a verse prologue here entitled Şerh Mevlud en-Nebi. This is followed by a section in Arabic entitled Kaside-yi evvel and the poem proper begins on f 2v. The last sections (fusul) of this copy run as follows: Fasl-i Zeydoğlu Ali (ff 27r-28r); Hatimetü'l-Kitap (ff 28r-29v); Fasl-i Kaside-yi Ferah (ff 29v-30r); Der beyan-i Vefat-i Fatima (ff 30r-33v), in which a loose folio from another manuscript containing the first lines of this section has been attached to the end papers; Hazret-i İbrahim (ff 33v-36v); and Münacat-i Mevlud en-Nebi (ff 36v-38r). This is followed by a short na't (f 39r).
The manuscript was copied in 1241 AH (1825-26 CE).
