This volume is an anthology containing mainly letters and petitions addressed to various officials, selected as models for correspondence and examples of fine inşa, beginning with the exordium of one addressed to the Grand Vizier (f 1r), followed by poems addressed to the Sultan, one by Yahya (f 1v) and furhter letters (f 2r), mainly written by the Kahya Bey, some of which bear the name Seyit Mehmet Emin ('an Hocegan) underneath (ff 4r, 9r), who may have been the compiler of this collection of letters.
After this there is a letter from the Kapıkayhası (f 10v) whose name is not given. The names which appear are those of Yusuf Paşa and Süleyman Paşa, Governors of Erzurum and Baghdad respectively; Şeyhzade İbrahim Aga (f 12v) and Salih Efendi (f 12v); but in most cases, the names have been left out. One letter is from the Valide Sultan's Kapıkahya to a vizier (f 13v), and another is from the müderrisler of Bursa to Remzizade Efendi (f 13v). Poems of Haleti, Safi and Ulvi follow (f 14r).
Next comes the Şerh-i kaside-yi Eşrefzade (ff 14v-17v), copied by Numan İbn-i Ahmet Atinavi at Gördes in 1239 AH (1823-24 CE), in the middle of which there is an account for cotton, dated 1239 AH (1823-24 CE) (f 15r) and a letter contcernin a timar in Saruhan of the same year with a signature bearing the name Yahya (?) (f 15v).
The remainder of this miscellany consists of further letters (ff 18r-20r), two of which are dated 1241 AH (1825-26 CE) and 1238 AH (1822-23 CE); a letter of emancipation (ıtıkname) (f 20r); a poem called Sergüzeşt-i fakıri describing the author's journey to İzmir (f 20v); poems by Şemsi, Nev'i, and Hubbi Kadın (f 21v); more letters and two communications about land tenure (f 22r), one entitled İzzet Paşa mukatası (f 22v) with the dates 1236 AH (1820-21 CE) and 1231 AH (1815-16 CE); and further miscellaneous notes with an account dated 1240 AH (1824-25 CE), giving the names of Timur Çelebi merhum alay-beyin kaynı el-Seyit Mehmet Emin Bey, Mehmet Avnullah, and Bihemta Efendi (f 24v), with a letter concerning the money owed by Sılahdar-i Şehryari Mehmet İslam Aga as rent for a house, dated 1240 AH (1824-25 CE) (f 25r). Next comes a blank folio (f 26r), another letter dated 1238 AH (1822-23 CE) (f 28r); and a note on the monthly pay of troops sent to Chios in 1239 AH (1824-25 CE) (f 28v). Above this comes 'Göres 1295/1878', which provides a break for this manuscript.
The documents after this break begin with a report of a dispute between pupils and teachers, dated 1239 AH (1823-24 CE) (ff 29v-31v); a letter addressed to Sılahdar İbrahim Paşa (f 31v); two letters, dated 1239 (1823-24 CE) (f 39v); a letter by Ragıp Paşa and one addressed to Rusçuk Ayani Tirsiniklizade (f 41v); one with the tesvid of Besim Efendi from Yeğen Ali Paşa, Kahya to the Grand Vizier (f 42v); Kaza-yi Gördes mübalaya-yı miri and letters dated 1239 AH (1823-24 CE) (ff 46v, 47r, 48r); Tabirat-i diğer (f 48v); a letter to Rami Efendi, Reis ul-Küttab (f 50v); the well-known Zenanname of Fazıl Bey Enderuni (ff 52v-54r); followed by two folios that are blank except for four lines of verse (ff 54-55); more letters, mostly models in this case (for example, a letter of congratulations written to a man who has become Kazasker by his friends, also letters to parents), but one letter, dated 1241 AH (1825-26 CE), is addressed by the Grand Vizier Mehmet Galip Paşa to the Muhafız of İzmir, Hasan Paşa (f 63r).
There is a literary extract from Nabi (f 63v), followed by a letter with the same signature of Seyit Mehmet Emin (see letters on ff 4r and 9r) (f 64v); a chronogram on the death of Gazi Hüseyin Paşa, Kapudan-i derya, and other chronograms (f 65r); a letter from Dürri Efendi (ff 65v-66r); poems by Vehbi, Baki and others (f 66v); further letters (f 67r); poems and nazireler of various poems (ff 69v-73v), with letters on f 70r (signature in a tuğra-frame of Seyit Hasan? muhafız-i İzmir), and on f 72r (signature of a similar character reading Musavveri Ferişte Ahmet Efendi Kullarıdır); more poems (ff 72v-77r); Persian paradigms (ff 77v-78r); more letters (ff 78v-79r); and poems commencing with a müstezad of Safvet (ff 79v-80r).
The last ten folios contain notes on the signs of death as recognized by medical men (f 80v); poems and letters (f 81r); a tahmis of Fedai with poems by Suzi and Kelim (f 81v); letters (ff 82v-83r); poems (ff 83v-84r); letters again with no names provided (ff 84b-86r); poems of Esat Paşa and Niyazi, followed by münacat, an Arabic prayer and letters, the last dated 1274 AH (1857-58 CE) (ff 86v-90r); and, lastly, a medical prescription and an ornamental tailpiece drawn crudely in ink (f 91r).
This manuscript, which has apparently become disordered in the binding together of a number of miscellaneous fragments, bears the number 572465 and a roughly-pencilled ornament on the first folio. The letters give an indication of the date of transcription.
