- Title:
- Siret en-Nebi - سيرة النبى
- Scope & Content:
-
This volume contains the fifth volume of a translation of the life of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم made from the Arabic of Abu’l-Ḥasan al-Bakrī. Judging from the style, it is certainly the well-known work of Zarir originally compiled in 779 AH (1377-78 CE).
This copy differs in content from the fifth volume as described in İstanbul Kitaphanesi, p. 404, but Karatay describes a third volume which covers the period from the Battle of Uhud to the death of the Prophet صلعم, thus forming the final volume of a set of three (see Or 11158), so the division into volumes is by no means fixed.
The manuscript was copied in 991 AH (1583-84 CE).
